The Everest ECB48D2 Chef Base series is equipped with features that protect from heat-induced distortion of the work top surface caused by prolonged exposure to mounted cooking equipment. Its proprietary dual air chambers, exhaust vents and additional insulation material diffuse and redirect heat away from the work top, preserving its structural integrity. Equipped with a fully self-contained and detachable condensing unit, which uses natural, environmentally friendly, EPA-compliant R290 refrigerant, it also features an audible overheat protection alarm that keeps the compressor and condenser coil from overheating. A condensate pan is both self-maintaining and energy efficient, requiring no external drains or electric heaters. The worktop is constructed of 16-gauge stainless steel that is reinforced by heat protection features so it won’t warp under normal use and withstands temperature of up to 500 degrees F. Safety grips provide secure maneuverability.
